There is something magical about getting a beautiful greeting card through your letter box, in this day and age of emails, social medial and electronic devices. Tree Free Greetings creates beautiful cards with full colour matching envelopes that stand out from the regular boring white envelope that comes with most cards.  

Many of our cards are blank inside with the exception of faint artwork so you can write your own message. Into the Wild by Graeme Stevenson

Into The Wild is a collection of wildlife art by Australian artist Graeme Stevenson.  Born in New South Wales, Australia, Graeme Stevenson's passion for art began at an early age. He took his first art lessons at 11.

His artwork can be found on t-shirts, tote bags, mugs and hats by The Mountain® all available at Tam's Treasures.   His use of splashes of colour along side the portraits of animals give the images a new dimension that pop off the apparel.

Some of the t-shirt designs included Painted Cheetahs, Elephants, Wolves and Rhinos. The t-shirts are available in three colours: teal, black and grey.  These t-shirts are available in tri-blend which is a combination of 25% cotton, 25% rayon and 50% polyester giving these tees durable comfort.

Protect - Endangered Species Collection by The Mountain®

We love animals and protecting endangered animals is a no brainer. One way we do this is by selling t-shirts, mugs and giftware from the Protect Collection by The Mountain® that have powerful images and messages. Clouded Leopard

We carry the Clouded Leopard t-shirt by The Mountain® from their Smithsonian Collection. This blog however; isn't just about the t-shirt it's about the Clouded Leopard itself. 

Often we see on social media organizations trying to save endangered species and while this is important, sometimes less attention is focused on animals that are considered vulnerable. 

The Clouded Leopard falls into the vulnerable category as there are fewer than 10,000 in the wild. Unfortunately, their numbers are dwindling because of poachers and the loss of habitat. You see Clouded Leopards love trees and spend most of their solitary life in trees. With forests and jungles being decimated at an increasingly rapid  pace, these beautiful big cats are dwindling in numbers.

It's important to be pro-active when it comes to conservation and the first thing we can do is making sure people are educated on the topic. We can't help prevent, what we don't know or understand.  It's all well and good to post a picture of an adorable Clouded Leopard on Facebook. But we need to also be prepared to do all we can to make sure these animals don't end up endangered or worse extinct. 

The Smithsonian Zoo and Museum in the US have conservation facilities throughout the world and they are doing what they can to make sure these beautiful creatures live and thrive.  One thing we can all do is make sure we donate or purchase products that will directly benefit the conservation of animals.  

The Mountain® has teamed up with the Smithsonian Institute to create beautiful t-shirts. 

The tees capture images of animals found at the Smithsonian Zoo and are part of their conservation program. Part of the proceeds from the sale of these t-shirts go to the Smithsonian for this purpose.

Clouded leopards dwell in the cloud forests of Southeast Asian and spend most of their time in trees. They are neither a true great cat or true small cat, because they cannot roar or purr. They make growling, hissing and chuffing noises.

They are also not a "type" of leopard but rather a separate species of wild cat. They have specialised ankle bones that allow them to climb face first down trees. Their coat is brown or grey covered with stripes, spots and botches. The Clouded Leopard also has short legs and a long tail.

Summoning the Storm was so popular it was even copied and stolen by a popular fashion designer (who will remain nameless) to sell on their own $1500 shirts.  Of course David's original is better and a lot cheaper!

From Big Face™ animals to fantasy and Native American designs, David has covered a whole plethora of subjects. His attention to detail give every piece a realistic and magical feel.

David doesn't just spin out art for the number of gift manufacturing companies that license his artwork.  He has worked doing digital art for tv and movies. It's already February!

Wow, I know I'm bad about keeping up with blogs but boy I didn't realise the last time I posted was November! Where has the time gone? It's not just 2017, but it's February! The good news we've got a lot of great new t-shirt designs by The Mountain®.

It's that time of year again! The Mountain® start to discontinue their t-shirt and apparel line to make room for the 2017 collection in January.  That means over 100 designs will be retired and gone for good. So if you have been meaning to get yourself a certain design and kept putting it off you better make sure it's not on the endangered list! 

We're sure the new 2017 collection will be amazing but we can't help be a little sad to say goodbye to some favourites like David Penfound's Butterflies and Chihuahua Handbag.

2016 Year of the Monkey!

2016 Year of the Monkey

February 8, 2016 through the 27th of January 2017 according to Chinese calendar is year of the monkey.  There are 12 recurring animals from the Chinese zodiac.  Monkeys are considered clever, cheerful and energetic.  People born under the sign are considered wise, intelligent and confident.

People born in the year of the monkey are called Monkeys in China. Coincidentally, I (Tam) was born in the year of the monkey and my sister-in-law and I have long running nick names for each other Monkey Woman & Monkey Girl. Long story and didn't actually come from the realization I was born in the year of the monkey either.

Did you know chimpanzees often called monkeys are not monkeys? They're actually from the ape family. Traditionally though people have called chimps and other small primates from the ape family monkeys. Monkeys actually have tails, so technically chimps and orangutans are not monkeys.

Happy New Year! We're sorry for being a bit late with our first blog of the year. As it is with every new year The Mountain® have brought out over 100 exciting new t-shirt designs. To start off our New Year with a bang we're highlighting t-shirts featuring the artwork of Tom Wood.

Tom Wood is a fantasy artist illustrator who has worked with big names like Warner Bros, Disney,  Reebok just to name a few. His realistic artwork will transform you to another fantastical world. More about Michael Cahill:

Michael Cahill originally grew up in Southern California, but his passion for painting, history, mythology, and the exploration of far off places have taken him all over the world. Michael's love of reading anything he could find started at a young age, and through reading he felt compelled to draw and paint the images that his imagination was creating. Inspired by the stories of pirates, great explorers, adventurers, fantasy books, science fiction characters, and everything in between - led him to paint all the time in order to show others what he was seeing.

Jumping forward in time, Michael was at university working on his economics degree, when he was contacted by a small visual FX studio that had seen his artwork and wanted to bring him on board to help with their Visual FX workload. That moment was all it took to change his direction, and Michael never looked back.

Now having spent 20 years working on award winning projects as an Art Director, Illustrator, and Production Designer for some of the biggest media companies in the world (Warner Brothers, Microsoft, and Nintendo) he's begun to branch out into the world of art licensing.

He's first series of paintings to be released by The Mountain are based on his love of personas. Wouldn't it be fascinating to be a Viking, Centurion, Explorer, or even Christmas Elf? His paintings encourage us to have fun with our personas, while also being eye catching and quite the conversation starter.

Currently Michael resides in Queensland, Australia with his family, and when he is not painting - he enjoys surfing, exploring his new homeland, and hanging out on the back deck with his two wild kookaburras.
